The maximum combined output is 98 hp and 123 pound-feet of torque. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard for the base Insight and LX. The EX comes with a CVT with paddle shifters that basically functions like a regular automatic transmission.

Subaru XV Crosstrek 2014

Introduced in 2013, the five-seat Subaru XV Crosstrek is a compact hatchback crossover that comes with standard all-wheel drive, a superb fuel economy, a functional and modern interior and strong off-road capabilities. The 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek is based on the Impreza and it is dedicated to those looking for the utility and ruggedness of an SUV, but do not need the massiveness of a truck-based crossover. For 2014, the Subaru XV Crosstrek adds to its lineup a hybrid version that has the Subaru’s first gasoline-electric drivetrain offering in the U.S. The 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek competes with Jeep Compass, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and Nissan Juke.

The 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek is available in 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Limited, Hybrid and Hybrid Touring trim levels. The 2.0i Premium comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, heated mirrors, roof rails, full power accesories, a windshield de-icer, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, heated front seats, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat, Bluetooth connectivity and a 6-speaker sound system with a CD player and USB ports.

The Subaru XV 2.0i Limited adds leather upholstery, automatic climate control, automatic headlights, a rearview camera and a 4.3-inch LCD display for the audio system. A sunroof and a navigation system are available as options for 2.0i Premium and 2.0i Limited.

The new Subaru XV Hybrid adds to 2.0i Limited (minus the leather upholstery) unique 17-inch wheels, quick-ratio electric power steering, chrome door handless, active grille shutters, keyless ignition, keyless entry, foldable sideview mirrors and an upgraded multifunction LCD display. The Hybrid Touring adds a navigation system, a sunroof, leather upholstery, a 6.1-inch touchscreen display, smartphone integration and HD radio.

The 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek 2.0i Premium and 2.0i Limited are powered by a 2.0-liter horizontally opposed DOHC Boxer four-cylinder engine that produces 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. Standard transmission is a 5-speed manual while a Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with 6-speed manual mode and paddle shifters is optional. The hybrid has the same engine that is combined with a permanent magnet AC Synchronous electric motor. This hybrid system produces 160 hp and 163 lb-ft of torque. The CVT is the only available transmission for hybrid models.

Standard safety features of the 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek include stability control, traction control, ABS, front head restraints, driver knee airbag, front side airbags and side curtain airbags.

Experts from Aol Autos say about Subaru XV Crosstrek:

The new Subaru XV Crosstrek will suit buyers who prioritize fuel economy over performance, doing their small part to save the planet while exploring it. Everything about the Crosstrek seems logical and done for a reason. The price is very competitive, and it should be popular in snow belts where the added ride height and Tangerine orange paint will look like a snowplow without warning lights.

The new Volkswagen Scirocco

The refreshed 2014 Volkwagen Scirocco will make its official debut at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show, in the same place where 40 years ago this hatchback coupe was first launched. After more than a million Sciroccos sold, Volkswagen has considered that it is time for a refresh.

The new 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco comes with a stylish shape that has been modernized and refined, with new taillights and headlights, as well as revised bumper styling. The revised front bumper features aerodynamic “blades” in the outer section, with integrated indicator lights, daytime running lights and fog lights. At the rear, all Sciroccos have LED tail lights, while the bumper has been reshaped to appear lower and more purposeful.

The new Volkswagen Scirocco comes with a choice of several different petrol and diesel engines. The 1.4 TSI petrol engine produces 123 hp, while a new 2.0-liter engine (which replaces the previous 2.0 TSI unit) produces 177 hp or 217 hp, depending on model. A 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine comes in two versions and generates 147 hp or 181 hp. All of these models get standard stop-start function in Europe.

The new 2014 Volkswagen Scirocco will be delivered starting in August, in Europe.
