2014 Ford Mustang

For its 50th year of production, the 2014 Ford Mustang continues to deliver performance, style, substance, technology and driver tools. The first Ford Mustang was unveiled on April 17, 1964 and became one of the great American icons. This muscle car has a strong personality and continues to offer style, thrills and value. The 2014 Mustang offers strong V6 and V8 engines, capables handling and ample performance enhancements. The Mustang competes with the Chevrolet Camaro, Hyundai Genesis coupe and Dodge Challenger.

The 2014 Ford Mustang is available as a coupe or convertible and it is offered in five trim levels: V6, V6 Premium, GT, GT Premium and Shelby GT500. The Mustang Boss 302 is no longer available. The Mustang V6 model comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, xenon headlights, integrated blind-spot mirrors, air conditioning, a tilt-only leather-wrapped steering wheel, a limited-slip rear differential, stainless steel dual exhaust, Bluetooth connectivity and a four-speaker audio system.

The V6 Premium adds leather upholstery, upgraded 17-inch wheels, Ford’s Sync voice activation system, color-adjustable gauges and ambient lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a premium 8-speaker sound system. Options for the V6 Premium include 18-inch wheels, foglamps and various unique exterior styling enhancements.

The Mustang GT adds 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, foglamps and a rear spoiler. The GT Premium is identical to the V6 Premium with 18-inch alloy wheels and all options. Brembo brakes and a Torsen limited-slip differential are available for GT models. Other options available for all models, include heated mirrors, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and sporty Recaro front seats.

The Mustang Shelby GT500 is a high-performance model that comes standard with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels, foglights, xenon headlights, leather upholstery with faux-suede trim, full power accessories, a six-way power driver seat, cruise control, heated front seats and an 8-speaker premium audio system. A navigation system, Recaro sport seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and upgraded springs and stabilizer bars, are all available as options.

The V6 models are powered by a 3.7-liter V6 engine that produces 305 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission is optional.

GT models use a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 420 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, with the same transmission selection such as V6 models. The high-performance Mustang Shelby is powered by a 5.8-liter supercharged intercooled V8 engine that produces 662 hp and 631 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission.
