At 182.2 inches long, 57.2 inches tall and 70 inches wide, it is more than 2.9 inches longer than previous Jettas.

On the front end of the car, the design is defined by prominent horizontal lines. The high-gloss black radiator grille and the car’s trapezoidal headlights help create a distinct look. The upper front end section shows a powerful transition from the V-shaped engine hood to the fenders on the sides and the shoulder section provides dynamic and muscular styling.

A common conceptual thread throughout the car is the intuitive controls and well-arranged instruments. Along with new redesigned steering wheel, drivers will enjoy a more comfortably and ergonomically designed gear shift grip. Further up on the center console are the newly designed and intuitive controls for climate, radio and navigation systems. The console section is also slightly inclined toward the driver for ideal alignment of the cockpit. 2012 Jetta TDI sedans are equipped like the SE with a touchscreen navigation system as an option. The Jetta SEL takes the SE’s standard equipment and adds 17-inch wheels, rear disk brakes, fog lamps and keyless entry. A Sport package with tighter suspension settings, grippy seats and metallic trim is available for this model.

The top-of-the-line Jetta GLI comes with an impressive powertrain (from GTI), sport bucket seats with red stitching, a flat-bottom steering wheel with red details, aluminum pedals and interior trim, fog lamps and 17-inch wheels. Options include 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, dual zone climate control and heated front seats.

The 2012 Volkswagen Jetta S come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 115 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard and a six-speed automatic is optional. EPA-estimated fuel economy for 2012 Jetta with this engine is 23 mpg city / 29 mpg highway with the automatic and 24 mpg city / 34 mpg highway with the manual.

The 2012 Jetta SE and SEL get a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine that produces 170 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. It gets the same transmission as the S model. Its EPA-estimated fuel economy is 24 mpg city/ 31 mpg highway for the automatic and 23 / 33 mpg for the manual.

The 2012 Jetta TDI features a turbocharged 2.0-liter diesel inline-4 that produces 140 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual is standard and Volkswagen’s six-speed dual-clutch automated manual gearbox is optional. The 2012 Jetta GLI comes with an 2.0-liter TSI engine that produces 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque and it is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Optional on the GLI is the 6-speed DSG manual transmission.

Honda was one of the first automakers to the market with a full-size crossover SUV with three rows of seating. When the Pilot debuted (with 2003 model year), it helped define a new automotive segment, aimed squarely at the needs of American buyers who required plenty of seating and cargo options, yet were looking for something other than a minivan or top-heavy SUV. The new Honda Pilot is a powerful crossover SUV, engineered for quality and durability, as well as high levels of functionality and comfort.

The 2012 Honda Pilot LX model comes standard with 17-inch steel wheels, rear privacy glass, keyless entry, automatic headlights, cruise control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, air conditioning, 60/40-split second- and third-row seats and a seven-speaker audio system with an auxiliary audio jack and CD/MP3 player. The EX model adds 18-inch alloy wheels, heated exterior mirrors, foglights, an eight-way power driver seat, tri-zone automatic climate control, steering wheel audio controls and 26 GB og digital music storage.

The EX-L upgrades include a power liftgate, a sunroof, leather upholstery, a power passenger seat, heated front seats, a rearview camera, a new multi-informational display, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and an iPod/USB audio interface.

The high-end Touring model of 2012 Honda Pilot adds roof rails, parking sensors, driver memory functions, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system and a 10-speaker premium sound system.

The 2012 Pilot‘s new grille and front fascia replace the prior model’s grille insert with a distinctive three-bar horizontal design. Reconfigured multi-reflector halogen headlights and turn signals contribute also to the new Honda Pilot’s look. The 2012 Honda Pilot is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (i-VTEC) technology with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM). The VCM system allows the V-6 engine to operate in six-cylinder mode for power and four- or three-cylinder mode for efficiency. This engine generates 250 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic is the only available transmission.

Fuel economy of 2012 Honda Pilot place this car near the top of its segment, with an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 17 mpg city / 24 mpg highway on 4-wheel-drive models and 18 mpg city/ 25 mpg highway on 2-wheel-drive models.
