The 2014 Chevrolet Sonic is Chevrolet’s entry into the popular subcompact segment. This car is fun to drive and comes with generous amount of features, roomy interior, agile handling and new optional features like rearview camera and lane departure and forward collision warning system. The Chevrolet Sonic competes with Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Beetle, Honda Fit and Nissan Versa.
The 2014 Chevrolet Sonic comes with sedan and four-door hatchback body styles and it is offered in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels. A sport-tuned RS model is available for Chevy Sonic hatchback. All models come with seats for five passengers.
The 2014 Chevy Sonic LS comes standard with 15-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, automatic headlights, cloth upholstery, air-conditioning, a height-adjustable driver seat, 60/40-split rear seats, a trip computer, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity and a 4-speaker audio system. The LT adds 15-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, heated power mirrors, remote ignition, power windows and a 6-speaker sound system.
The LTZ adds 17-inch alloy wheels, foglights, heated front seats, chrome exterior trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7-inch touchscreen interface and Chevy MyLink system. The RS adds a sport-tuned suspension, sportier exterior trim, sport steering wheel and a more powerful engine. A sunroof is available as option for all models.
The 2014 Chevrolet Sonic comes standard with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 138 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic transmission is available. A turbocharged 1.4-liter engine is optional for the Chevy Sonic LT and LTZ. This engine produces 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard for thid engine.
The 2014 Chevy Sonic RS comes standard with the turbocharged engine paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission.
Standard safety equipment includes traction control, stability control, ABS, knee airbags for front seats, front seat side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags.
