Suzuki Kizashi 2012

The 2012 Suzuki Kizashi is one of the best compact sedans on the market and has a lengthy list of standard equipment. Lively handling and available all-wheel drive make the 2012 Suzuki Kizashi one of the most fun-to-drive affordable midsize cars. The name “Kizashi” means “something great is coming” in Japanese. This Suzuki’s car competes on the market with Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry.

The 2012 Suzuki Kizashi is available in S, SE, Sport GTS and sport SLS trim levels. The 2012 Kizashi S comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, full power accesories, keyless ignition and entry, cloth upholstery, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver seat and a seven-peaker stereo with USB port and iPod interface. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and cruise control are standard on Kizashi S with CVT. The SE adds 17-inch alloy wheels, steering-wheel-mounted audio control and an eight-way power driver seat with memory settings and power lumbar adjustment. Leather upholstery is available as an option on the S and SE trims. Both S and SE models are offered with the new Crimson Red Metallic exterior color.

The 2012 Kizashi Sport GTS adds 18-inch wheels, foglights, sporty exterior treatments, a sunroof, a sport-tuned suspension, a 10-speaker stereo system and Bluetooth phone connectivity. Sport GTS models with AWD receive steering-wheel-mounted shift padels.

The top-of-the line Kizashi Sport SLS adds heated sideview mirrors, automatic wipers, automatic headlamps, leather upholstery, a power passenger seat, heated front seats, parking sensors and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. A navigation system with a rearview camera is optional on the Kizashi Sport SLS.

Suzuki has taken advantage of its expertise in the compact car segment to efficiently execute spacious interior proportions that afford comfort and practicality while minimizing wasted space. Along with cabin proportions that reward Kizashi drivers and passengers with comfort and roominess, Suzuki provides a contemporary, upscale interior feel in line with vehicle’s on-road performance characteristics. The 2012 Suzuki Kizashi also offers extensive sound insulation to help suppress road, tire and wind noise.

Available premium leather is supplemented by three-stage heated front seats and three-position memory program for the driver’s seat. In addition, both cloth and leather seating benefit from Suzuki’s attention to detail, including French seams, hard cover rears and high-density, low fatigue foam. Other standard premium choices include ambient overhead and footwell lighting, felt flocked glove box and center console storage tray, soft-woven headliner and A-pillars and leather door pull-straps.

The 2012 Suzuki Kizashi is powered by a 2.4-liter DOHC inline four-cylinder engine. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the S, Sport GTS and Sport SLS with front-wheel drive, while a CVT is standard on the SE and AWD models. The engine delivers 185 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque with the manual transmission and 180 horsepower with CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

Engineered from conception to be all-wheel-drive capable, the Kizashi offers intelligent all-wheel-drive (i-AWD), a system with highly advanced controls that evokes and promotes a natural sense of driving enthusiasm and safety. Kizashi’s nest-generation i-AWD system is a rare option on its class, as this performance feature is more often found among luxury offerings. Engineered to provide outstanding traction in inclement weather, the sophisticated all-wheel-drive system delivers both enhanced traction in low-friction situations and enhanced cornering capabilities.

Estimated fuel economy for 2012 Suzuki Kizashi is 21 mpg city / 31 mpg highway for FWD models with manual transmission, while the CVT models are rated at 23 mpg city / 31 mpg  highway. The AWD Kizashi models are rated with 22 mpg city / 29 mpg highway.

Standard safety features on all 2012 Suzuki Kizashi include stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, front and rear side airbags and side curtain airbags.

The experts from autos.aol.com conclude about 2012 Suzuki Kizashi:

The Suzuki Kizashi is a small sports sedan that offers more standard equipment than its competitors, including safety features, at a slightly lower price. The S and SE models offer much, and for more money there are Sport models, plus optional all-wheel drive. The engineering is excellent, with a solid four-cylinder engine, transmission choices including a high-tech CVT with paddle shifters, an exceptionally rigid chassis, tuned suspension offering a compliant ride and great cornering, and precise brakes.
