Kia Sportage 2011

Starting at $18.295 MSRP and available in 7 trims, Sportage 2011 is a 4-door, 5-passenger sport-utilityvehicle. The competitors of 2011 Kia Sportage are Honda CR-V, Nissan Rogue and Ford Escape.

The interior of Kia Sportage 2011 is a big improvement compared with the dowdy trappings of its predecessor. Although most surfaces are rendered in the hard plastics that are unavoidable in anything at this price point, the low-gloss finishes and beveled, masculine shapes help give the materials an upscale look. Feature content ranges from relatively low frills in Base trim to more confortable in the mid-grade LX trim. The lineup is topped by the EX model, which loads on interior extras while dressing up the exterior with chrome trim and rear spoiler.

Compared to the 2010 model, the Kia Sportage 2011 model is 3.5 inches longer, adds 10 percent more cargo space and with its 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine, makes more power than the outgoing V.6 power plant and also achieves better fuel economy.

The New Kia Sportage 2011 has room for five people and it has a 60/40 split folding back seats. Standard features include air conditioning, a CD stereo with auxiliary and USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, a tilt steering wheel and height-adjustable front seats. EX trims gain a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, keyless entry, dual-zone air conditioning, a cooled glove box and a power driver’s seat. Available EX feature include leather-trimmed upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, push-button start, rear parking sensors and a panoramic roof.

The standard engine for the Kia Sportage 2011 Base, LX and EX models is a 2.4 liter, 4-cylinder, aluminium Block and Heads with 176 horsepower and 168 ft.lbs of torque. The SX model of  Sportage 2011 comes with an 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbo charged engine what produced 260 hp and 264 ft.lbs of torque.

The transmission is a 6-speed manual for Base trim and 6-speed automatic electronically controled overdrive Sportmatic transmission for LX, EX and SX models. Fuel tank capacity is 14.5 gallons.

The estimated MPG is 21 city/29 highway for Base with 2.4 liter engine, manual transmission and Front Wheel Drive. For 2.0 liter engine with 6-speed automatic and all -wheel drive milleage is 21 mpg city/25 mpg highway.

Standard safety features on all new Kia Sportage models include front side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, active front headrests, antilock disc brakes with brake assist, traction control and stability control as well as hill descent and hill start control. A rear view camera is optional.

Popularmechanics says:

Kia’s new Sportage offers plenty of style and substance for drivers seeking a competitively priced compact sport ute. Lighter, more powerful and thriftier on gas than its predecessor, Sportage combines an updated interior with more available amenities and a responsive chassis.
