2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible at Los Angeles Auto Show 2011

General Motors has announced that the 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 convertible will officially debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. 2013 ZL1 is set to go on sale in 2012 as a 2013 model year car.

With an 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine and 580 horsepower, the new 2013 Camaro ZL1 is the most powerful convertible model Chevrolet has ever built. Other performance specs include a liquid-to-liquid oil cooler borrowed from the Corvette ZR1, a deep-sump oil pan, rear-differential cooler, third-generation Magnetic Ride Control able to adjust the suspension settings up to 1,000 times per second and a new Performance Traction Management.

The Camaro chief engineer, Al Oppenheiser, said about new 2013 Camaro ZL1 convertible:

The Camaro ZL1 convertible will be one of the most powerful and most capable, convertibles available at any price. This is a car that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face every time you drop the top – or hit the gas.
