2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The 2014 S-Class is the flagship sedan of the Mercedes-Benz and it is now, with this new model, at the sixth generation (since its 1972 debut). The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is fully redesigned and it is the most luxurious sedan offered by Mercedes-Benz. This luxurious and expensive car competes with BMW 7-Series, Audi A8 and Jaguar XJ.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is offered in the U.S. in S550, S550 4Matic and S63 AMG trim levels. The 2014 S-Class S550 comes standard with rear-wheel-drive, 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, the Comand system with navigation, a rearview camera, a complete LED lighting system, dual 12.3-inch high resolution screens, Burmester surround-sound system with dual USB audio ports, Front Bass system and voice control, heated 16-way power front seats with memory, in-car WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth connectivity, soft-close doors, power rear-window sunshade, multicolor/multizone LED ambient lighting, keyless start and electronic trunk closer. The S550 4Matic adds all-wheel drive. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG adds a more powerful engine, powered AMG sports seats in Nappa leather, Keyless GO remote starting, an AMG exhaust system, an AMG adaptive sports suspension and also plenty of elements of interior/exterior design typical at AMG.

For all models a lot of options are available standalone or grouped into packages (Premium1, Premium Plus, Warmth, Executive, Air Balance, Sport, Sport Plus and Driver Assistance). These optional features include 19″ or 20″ multispoke alloy wheels, active multicontour front seats with massage, ventilated front seats, 4-zone automatic climate control, heated and ventilated rear seats, dual power rear seats with folding tables, heated and cooled cupholders, cabin-air purification system, rear seats entertainment system, a Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system, Cross-Traffic Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S550 and S550 4Matic come with a 4.7-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine that produces 449 hp and can turn 4.8 seconds into 60 mph. This engine is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The S-Class S63 AMG is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine built by AMG, that produces 577 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed AMG Speedshift Sports transmission.

2014 Buick LaCrosse

The 2014 Buick LaCrosse is a sophisticated five-seat full-size sedan that offers a luxurious interior with premium materials, comfortable and roomy seats, and also comfortable and quiet ride. This large sedan is offered both front- and all-wheel drive configurations and also is available with Buick’s eAssist mild hybrid technology. The 2014 Buick LaCrosse competes with Chrysler 300, Kia Cadenza and Lexus ES 350.

The 2014 Buick LaCrosse is available in four trim levels: Base, Leather, Premium 1 and Premium 2. Base model comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, full power accessories, dual-zone automatic climate control, split-folding rear seats, an eight way power driver seat, an auto-dimming mirror, cruise control, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an 110-volt power outlet, Bluetooth connectivity, an 8″ touchscreen display, remote keyless entry, remote vehicle start and a 7-speaker audio system with CD player and iPOd/USB interface.

The Buick LaCrosse Leather model adds foglamps, rear park assist, a rearview camera, heated front seats, driver memory settings, push-button start and, of course, leather upholstery. The Premium 1 adds 19-inch wheels, power rear sunshade, heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats and an 11-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system. The Premium 2 adds 20-inch alloy wheels and Real Time Dampening with Sport mode.

Options for the Buick LaCrosse include upgraded leather upholstery, leather armrest/center console trim, xenon headlights, side blind zone alerts, a sunroof and a rear-seat entertainment system with dual headrest-mounted screens.

The 2014 Buick LaCrosse is offered with a choice of two engines. The base and front-wheel-drive Leather models come with a mild hybrid powertrain consisting in a 2.4-liter ECOTEC DOHC 4-cylinder engine paired with a 11-kilowatt electric motor. Combined, they produce 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque. Optional for the two trim levels mentioned above and standard on everything else is a 3.6-liter SIDI DOHC V6 engine with VVT that produces 306 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard on all models.

Standard safety features include ABS, traction control, stability control, front and rear seat side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags.

2013 Acura RDX

The 2013 Acura RDX is the first redesign of the model since 2007 debut of this compact crossover. The Acura is Honda’s premium brand, and the 2013 RDX is not an exception. The new 2013 Acura RDX comes now with a fresh look, a powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, a generous standard features list, roomy cabin, a longer wheelbase, a competitive cargo space for this class and a revised all-wheel-drive system. The 2013 Acura RDX is in a direct competition with Audi Q5, BMW X3, Cadillac SRX, Volvo XC60 and Nissan Murano.

The 2013 RDX is a small crossover SUV that is offered in two trim levels: base and base with Technology package. Any model is offered with front- or all-wheel drive. The Acura RDX SUV comes standard with 18-inch 5-spoke aluminum wheels, keyless ignition, keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated mirrors, automatic headlights, rear privacy glass, a sunroof, a rearview camera, power and heated front seats, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity and 7-speaker audio system with a CD player, an USB/iPod interface and Pandora radio interface.

The Technology package adds to the Acura RDX base model foglights, a navigation system with voice recognition and real-time traffic and weather, a solar-sensing GPS, a 60GB hard-drive disc, a premium 10-speaker surround-sound audio system, power rear tailgate and projector beam headlights with bi-xenon HID bulbs.

The 2013 RDX is powered by a 3.5-liter 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC V6 engine that produces 273 hp and 251 pound-feet of torque. The power is transmitted to front- or all-wheel-drive system through a 6-speed automatic transmission. The front-drive model has an EPA fuel economy rating of 20 mpg city/28 mpg highway while the AWD model has an EPA fuel economy rating of 19 mpg city/ 27 mpg highway.

The 2013 Acura RDX crossover SUV comes standard with ABS, stability control, traction control, side curtain airbags, front side airbags and front head restraints.
