The 2013 Acura RDX is the first redesign of the model since 2007 debut of this compact crossover. The Acura is Honda’s premium brand, and the 2013 RDX is not an exception. The new 2013 Acura RDX comes now with a fresh look, a powerful and fuel-efficient V6 engine, a generous standard features list, roomy cabin, a longer wheelbase, a competitive cargo space for this class and a revised all-wheel-drive system. The 2013 Acura RDX is in a direct competition with Audi Q5, BMW X3, Cadillac SRX, Volvo XC60 and Nissan Murano.
The 2013 RDX is a small crossover SUV that is offered in two trim levels: base and base with Technology package. Any model is offered with front- or all-wheel drive. The Acura RDX SUV comes standard with 18-inch 5-spoke aluminum wheels, keyless ignition, keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated mirrors, automatic headlights, rear privacy glass, a sunroof, a rearview camera, power and heated front seats, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity and 7-speaker audio system with a CD player, an USB/iPod interface and Pandora radio interface.
The Technology package adds to the Acura RDX base model foglights, a navigation system with voice recognition and real-time traffic and weather, a solar-sensing GPS, a 60GB hard-drive disc, a premium 10-speaker surround-sound audio system, power rear tailgate and projector beam headlights with bi-xenon HID bulbs.
The 2013 RDX is powered by a 3.5-liter 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC V6 engine that produces 273 hp and 251 pound-feet of torque. The power is transmitted to front- or all-wheel-drive system through a 6-speed automatic transmission. The front-drive model has an EPA fuel economy rating of 20 mpg city/28 mpg highway while the AWD model has an EPA fuel economy rating of 19 mpg city/ 27 mpg highway.
The 2013 Acura RDX crossover SUV comes standard with ABS, stability control, traction control, side curtain airbags, front side airbags and front head restraints.
