The 2012 Buick Enclave is a comfortable, luxurious and capable family hauler that combines the smooth ride and responsive handling of a car, with the cargo capability and high seating position of a sport utility vehicle. The Buick Enclave offers three rows of seats standard, with seating for up to eight people. The 2012 Enclave competes with Acura MDX, Lexus Rx350, Lincoln MKT and Volvo XC90.
The 2012 Buick Enclave is a large SUV that is offered in four different trim levels: Base (MSRP from $36,350), Convenience Group (starting at $ 37,270 MSRP), Leather Group ( at $ 40,250) and Premium Group ( from $ 43,615 MSRP ).
The Buick Enclave Base model is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, bi-xenon headlights, heated outside mirrors, a power liftgate, cloth upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, power front seats, keyless entry, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker CD/MP3 audio system with an auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio.
The Convenience Group trim level adds rearview camera, rear parking assist and remote starting. The Leather Group adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, and driver memory settings. The top-of-the-line Premium Group adds 19-inch chrome wheels, heated power-folding outside mirrors, adaptive xenon headlights, ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable steering column, and a 10-speaker Bose premium audio system.
The 2012 Buick Enclave is roomy but its fluid lines and curved surfaces create the illusion of a smaller vehicle. Classic Buick design cues include a waterfall grille with a bold, tri-shield emblem and V-shaped portholes. On Buick Enclave review, the experts from autos.aol.com say about this large SUV:
The exterior design of the Buick Enclave is more elegant and refined than that of the GMC Acadia, which is deliberately truck-like. The Enclave carries the latest Buick design language. The protruding vertical bar grille and vestigial portholes on the hood make sure you know it’s a Buick.
The Enclave interior complements the exterior with a luxurious, warm and inviting environment featuring premium soft-touch, low-gloss materials. Attention to detail is evident in the fit and finish of all interior elements including the instrument panel. Enclave is the only crossover in its segment equipped with QuietTuning, Buick’s exclusive engineering process designed to reduce, block and absorb unwanted noise from entering the cabin.
Even with three rows of seating, Buick Enclave still provides 24.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seat when the cargo management system is removed. Enclave offers 115.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row when the second- and third-row seats are folded. A second row, 60/40-split bench seat and power sunroof are available on all models.
All 2012 Buick Enclave models are powered by a 3.6-liter direct injected V-6 engine with variable valve timing that produces 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. The 3.6-liter V6 engine is mated to the Hydra-Matic electronically-controlled six-speed automatic transmission. The 2012 Enclave is offered with either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).
EPA-estimated fuel economy for 2012 Buick Enclave is 24 mpg highway/ 17 mpg city on FWD models and 22 mpg highway/ 16 mpg city on AWD models.
Standard safety features of Buick Enclave include four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, electronic stability system with rollover mitigation technology, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and more.
